Playing board games or cards with your child has many benefits. It helps them learn strategies, how to win/lose gracefully, language skills, money/counting skills, plus it is fun time with your child. 

If you have a long road trip/flight, bring along some math or sight word flash cards, they can practice math facts and vocabulary, reading books is one of the best things for kids to do. Colouring books help with fine motor skills as well.

Heading outside to play in any season is a great way to contribute to cognitive and social/emotional development and improve sensory and gross motor skills.
