About Us

Sinkut View Elementary School, located on the outskirts of Vanderhoof, BC, is an energetic learning environment with an Indigenous population of fifteen percent and a total of 88 learners ranging from Kindergarten to grade six.  Each classroom has a blended configuration that changes yearly depending on enrollment.  Blended classrooms provide the opportunity for students to experience a high degree of flexibility in their learning, with differentiated instruction spanning two grade levels.  Blended learning also provides the opportunity for peer mentorship, role modelling and learning buddies.  Sinkut View benefits from a supportive PAC and parent community, a school counsellor and a dedicated Learner Services Department that provides occupational therapy and speech and language services. The school is fortunate to have a professional and caring teaching and support staff that places value on building relationships and providing the best possible education for all learners to reach their maximum potential.  Extra-curricular activities, field trips, sports days, school spirit days, student leadership, greenhouse and agriculture projects, community involvement, a breakfast program, student lunch monitors, office helpers and hot lunch days round out the learning community at Sinkut View.
